About this spectacle

Edessa's Waterfalls Park sits at the edge of the city where streams plunge dramatically off a cliff into a lush gorge below. Visitors walk through well-maintained park paths lined with plane trees and dense vegetation, hearing the roar of the falls grow louder as they approach the viewing platforms. The main waterfall drops in a broad curtain of white water, misting the air and cooling even summer heat. Smaller cascades thread through the rock face alongside. The gorge below glows green with moss and fern, and the combination of rushing water, cool air, and dappled light makes for a striking sensory experience. The park is genuinely within the city, making it unusually accessible for a spectacle of this scale in Greece.
