Vantawng Falls is the tallest waterfall in Mizoram and one of the most impressive in northeastern India. Visitors approach through dense subtropical forest, the roar of cascading water building long before the falls come into view. The main drop plunges dramatically into a deep gorge, throwing up a fine mist that coats the surrounding vegetation in a permanent shimmer. The lush greenery of the Mizoram hills frames the white curtain of water against dark rock faces, creating striking visual contrasts. The monsoon season swells the flow to its most thunderous, while the post-monsoon months offer clearer skies and easier access along forest trails. Birdsong from the surrounding forest adds to the sensory richness of the site.
