About this spectacle

Devils Bridge is a striking sandstone arch in the red rock country outside Sedona, Arizona. Visitors hike through desert scrub and rust-colored canyon terrain before arriving at the natural arch, where the most memorable moment is stepping out onto the broad stone span itself. From the bridge, panoramic views of surrounding mesas, buttes, and the Verde Valley spread in every direction. The red and orange hues of the Coconino sandstone intensify under morning and late-afternoon light, creating vivid contrasts against a blue desert sky. The trail winds through classic high-desert scenery — juniper, manzanita, and the occasional yucca — before the arch emerges dramatically above a dry wash. The exposure on the arch itself is noticeable, with open air on both sides, making the experience feel genuinely exhilarating. Crowds are common, especially on weekends, as this is one of Sedona's most photographed landmarks.
