Romito Cave in Calabria is an archaeological and geological site sheltering one of the most remarkable examples of Palaeolithic rock art in southern Italy. Visitors enter a natural cave where ancient engravings — most famously a large bovid figure carved into the rock face — emerge from the stone in the dim interior light.
