Rinka Falls — Slovenia
Slovenia's iconic alpine waterfall plunges into the glacial Logarska Dolina, framed by the dramatic peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
About this spectacle
Rinka Falls is one of Slovenia's most celebrated waterfalls, plunging dramatically into the upper Logarska Dolina, a glacially carved alpine valley in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Visitors approach along a forested path, hearing the roar before the falls come into view — a single curtain of white water cascading over a limestone cliff face. The surrounding alpine scenery amplifies the visual drama, with steep valley walls and dense conifer forest framing the cascade. In spring, snowmelt swells the flow to its most powerful, filling the air with mist and thunderous sound. In winter, partial freezing transforms the falls into a sculptural column of ice and hanging icicles. The walk to the base is relatively short and well-trodden, making this an accessible highlight of the Logar Valley, itself a protected natural park.
