About this spectacle

Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres, dominates the horizon with a massive glaciated summit that is perpetually shrouded in cloud. Visitors scanning the skyline from roadside pull-offs or trail viewpoints are treated to an ever-shifting spectacle: ice falls gleaming white against dark rock, ribbons of meltwater threading through alpine meadows, and — on the rare clear day — the full pyramid of the mountain reflected in still valley lakes. The air carries the sharp freshness of glacial melt and conifer forest. Mountain goats and grizzly bears frequent the lower slopes, and the Berg Lake trail corridor offers progressively dramatic vistas as the route ascends past Kinney Lake into the heart of the massif. Weather closes in quickly, making each clear view a genuinely memorable reward.
