About this spectacle

Kintampo Waterfalls cascades through dense tropical forest in Ghana's Bono East Region, offering visitors the sight and sound of rushing water tumbling over rocky outcrops into pools below. The surrounding vegetation creates a lush green canopy, and the mist from the falls cools the air — a welcome relief in this warm West African climate. Visitors can hear the roar of the water before they see it, with birdsong mixing with the rush of the falls. The site is one of Ghana's most visited natural attractions, drawing both local and international visitors for swimming and photography. The shaded forest paths leading to the falls add to the immersive experience of arriving at the cascades.
