Hörschbachwasserfälle
Upper and lower waterfalls in a quiet ravine near Murrhardt.
About this spectacle
Tucked into a quiet sandstone ravine near the Swabian town of Murrhardt, the Hörschbachwasserfälle present two distinct waterfalls — an upper and a lower cascade — along the Hörschbach stream. Visitors walking the forested trail hear the rushing water before they see it, emerging to views of white ribbons of water tumbling over mossy rock ledges. The surrounding woodland muffles outside noise, creating a sense of seclusion unusual for a site so accessible from a small town. In spring the ravine is lush and the falls run full; in autumn, falling leaves and golden light add visual warmth. The cascades are modest in scale but intimate in character — the kind of place where you can stand close enough to feel the spray, listen to birdsong echoing off the ravine walls, and linger without crowds.
