About this spectacle

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall on Jeju Island, South Korea, plunges into a serene pool framed by dense subtropical vegetation. Visitors walk a short, well-maintained path through a narrow gorge lush with ferns, mosses, and ancient trees, arriving at a curtain of white water that drops dramatically into emerald-green water below. The sound of the falls fills the gorge, and mist drifts across the viewing area, cooling the air even on warm days. The surrounding forest hosts endemic plant species, and the stream below the falls is famous for hosting the endemic Jeju waterfall eel (Anguilla marmorata). Illumination at night transforms the falls into a striking spectacle. The site is one of Jeju's iconic 'three waterfalls' and draws steady visitors year-round, offering a refreshing natural escape within easy reach of Seogwipo city.
