About this spectacle

Chachai Falls is a dramatic waterfall located in Madhya Pradesh, India, where the Bihad River plunges into a deep gorge. Visitors witness a powerful cascade of water falling over a sheer cliff edge, creating a thunderous roar and a perpetual mist that hangs in the air. The surrounding landscape is rugged and forested, with rocky outcrops framing the falls. During and immediately after the monsoon season, the volume of water surging over the edge intensifies dramatically, turning the falls into a genuinely awe-inspiring spectacle. The spray reaches surrounding viewpoints, refreshing visitors on hot days. The gorge below catches the late-afternoon light in striking ways, and the lush greenery of the seasonal forest adds vivid colour contrast to the white water. Outside monsoon, the flow reduces but the scenic gorge setting remains compelling.
